Car Insurance Savings and Discounts
Car Insurance Savings and Discounts
Everyone likes to save money. Whether it's buy-one get-one or half-off, finding a good deal is always exciting. Luckily, you can do the same with your insurance. While we can't give you a free insurance policy when you purchase one, we can provide you with plenty of opportunities to save. Explore our discounts below!
Multi-policy discounts
More equals less. How so? If you insure multiple cars or have multiple polices with us (such as a life insurance or home policy plus auto insurance), discounts could apply. We offer multi-policy discounts from 16% to 25%, depending on your state where you insure your auto and home with us.
*Life insurance policies (not available in New York) cannot be combined with auto policies taking advantage of the ERIE Rate Lock endorsement to get a multi-policy discount.
Multi-car discounts
Have more than one car to insure? You could be eligible to save on your insurance with a multi-car discount. You can also receive this discount on other cars primarily kept at your address, such as a spouse's, child's, or roommates car.
First Accident Forgiveness
Everybody deserves a second chance, right? Well, we offer First Accident Forgiveness, meaning you won’t be surcharged the first time you’re at fault in an accident after you’ve been an ERIE customer for three or more years. (The three-year wait doesn’t apply in all states.)
Diminishing Deductible option
You haven’t filed any claims and have the record to prove it? Check into our Diminishing Deductible option, available on the ERIE Auto Plus Endorsement. For each consecutive policy year in which you don’t file a claim, your deductible will be reduced by $100 (up to a maximum amount of $500). Eligibility varies by state, so make sure you qualify by checking with your agent.
Vehicle storage
Maybe you want to keep your car out of the bad winter weather, or maybe you’re flying to a warmer destination for a while. Whatever the reason, if you plan to store your vehicle for 90 consecutive days or more, we offer a reduced usage discount in most states. (Not available in Kentucky.)
Safety savings
“Safety first” is a smart mantra. So it stands to reason that the safety features in your vehicle will pay off in the form of discounts. Factory-installed airbags, anti-theft devices and anti-lock brakes are some of the safety features that will pay off for you in more ways than one. (Discount not available in Kentucky.)
Payment perks
Paying for your auto insurance in installments can be convenient and helpful for the budget-conscious. But you get a discount if you pay for your annual premium — another word for the price of insurance — in one lump sum, up front. Plus, you don’t have to worry about another bill for one full year.
Youthful Driver Discount
It’s not unusual to gulp a bit when that teenager takes the wheel. And then there’s the cost of adding another driver to the policy. But we offer several discounts, from 5 percent to 20 percent, which could apply to your family if you have new drivers. They include the Youthful Driver Discount, for unmarried drivers under 21 who live with their parents; the Youthful Longevity Discount, for unmarried young drivers who may get a credit for consecutive years spent insured under another ERIE auto policy (usually a parent’s or guardian’s policy); and the Driving Training Discount, for young drivers under age 21 who have completed an accredited driver training course.
Also, insurance costs will gradually decrease with each successive year that a young driver gains experience without any traffic violations or accidents. At age 24, with the next policy renewal, their rates will lower from a young driver to an adult. (In North Carolina, driving experience factors gradually decrease until the driver gains eight years of experience.)
College credit
College is expensive enough, so look into our college student discount. If your son or daughter is living away from home while attending school and doesn’t have access to a car, let us know. You could get a discount for the time they aren’t driving.
